Pagasa (Hope)
Tote Bags
Print Design
On November 2020 the Philippines was hit by Super Typhoon Rolly/Goni and Typhoon Ulysses/Vamco, less than two weeks apart. Separating families, destroying homes, flooding the cities, the Filipino people were left helpless.
Pagasa means hope. Sometimes when you’ve lost everything else, the only thing left is hope. I understand that one bag can’t fix all the destruction or even the larger issues of climate change, but I hope for leadership that will. I hope for families to reunite, I hope for the rebuilding of communities and I will always have hope in the power of change.
Design wise I wanted to keep it simple and highlight the wonders of Benaue rice terraces and Mount Pulag, wonders of Luzon, where people were most affected. Added the sun from our flag representing a new, brighter tomorrow.
As tough as 2020 was for the world. We brought a little more hope raising over $1700 for Kids for Kids Philippines. Also, who doesn't love a good tote bag?
